Integrative Medicine – What Is It?
Integrative Medicine refers to the combination of conventional medicine and evidence-based natural and complementary medicines and/or therapies to achieve holistic, patient-centred care. Integrative Medicine aims to address the causes of illness and is suited to people with chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and many other diseases.
Booking an Appointment
Dr Simon James uses evidence-based, safe and ethical integrative therapies, which include detailed medical history, lifestyle, environmental & genetic risk assessment, followed by relevant investigations to understand the patient’s presenting symptoms.
Following the medical assessment, Integrative Medicine consultation aims to:
Offer a greater range of therapeutic options to patients to relieve symptoms, offer another trial of treatment options for preventative health, optimal physical and psychological wellness
Provide individualised care that with in depth investigation and discussion, assist the patient to make safe decisions in the sue of integrative therapy
Improve quality of life and wellbeing in those with chronic conditions, and chronic symptoms, especially where conventional therapies have not met patient expectations

For new patients, please book a 45 minute appointment with Dr James. If you have complex or multiple issues, please book a one hour appointment.
Fees

15 min appointment is $90, with a rebate of $41.60

30 min appointment is $180, with a rebate of $80.10

45 min appointment is $270, with a rebate of $118

60 min appointment is $360, with a rebate of $118
Please note, Integrative Medicine appointments with Dr James require 48 hours cancellation notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice or do not attend, the full appointment fee applies.
Who does it?
Dr Simon James at Clinicare Fitzroy North. Onsite pathology collections are usually offered at the time of your appointment by 4Cyte collectors (limited times) or an appointment with our Practice Nurse. Some specialised pathology collections may be required off-site.
